Overview
AmiAmi supports overseas customers directly, so a proxy is not automatically the best choice.
Using JPS makes sense when the proxy workflow solves a specific problem.
The most common reasons are:
- combining AmiAmi with purchases from other Japanese stores
- using a Japan-side receiving address
- managing several Japan purchases through one warehouse
- preparing one international shipment after multiple orders arrive

Check direct AmiAmi shipping first
If the exact order ships directly to your country at an acceptable cost, direct shipping may be simpler.
JPS becomes more useful when you are already building a larger Japan shopping haul.
Preorder timing is the first thing to plan
For preorders, confirm:
Do not wait until the first item reaches the warehouse to think about storage.
- release month
- expected delay risk
- payment timing
- cancellation policy
- whether different releases can be combined
- whether the JPS 60-day free storage window is enough
Pre-owned figures need separate item and box review
Check:
Collectors should not treat package condition as a minor detail if resale value matters.
- item condition
- box condition
- missing parts
- included stand
- bonus items
- opened/unopened status
JPS fee structure for the shipping stage
For eligible JPS orders:
This structure is useful when several Japan purchases are being combined into one shipment.
- ¥300 proxy fee per purchase request
- free consolidation
- 60 days free warehouse storage
- international parcel packing from ¥500
- item photos ¥500/item
- international shipping at actual carrier rates
- no JPS shipping markup
Box size is the real cost driver for many figures
For boxed figures, final freight can exceed the proxy fee by a wide margin.
Before shipment, compare:
A low Japanese item price does not guarantee a low delivered cost.
- actual weight
- dimensions
- dimensional weight
- one parcel vs. split shipment
- collector-box preservation
