Overview
JPS helps overseas buyers purchase eligible products in Japan and ship them internationally.
The process has two main parts:
JPS separates these stages so the customer can clearly see what is paid now and what is determined later.
- purchase in Japan
- international shipping after warehouse arrival

1. Find the item
Start with a supported Japanese marketplace or store.
If the source is outside the standard JPS marketplace list, Buy by URL may be available.
Before submitting the request, confirm:
For used listings, review the original photos and seller description carefully.
- exact product
- seller/store
- size/color/variation
- quantity
- condition
- included accessories
- price
2. Submit the purchase request
JPS receives the item information selected by the customer.
If a material detail changes before purchase—for example:
the customer should be able to review the change rather than receive an automatic substitute.
- price
- seller
- variation
- stock status
3. Pay the Japan-side purchase amount
At the purchase stage, the customer pays:
International shipping is not finalized yet.
- item price
- Japan domestic shipping where applicable
- ¥300 JPS proxy fee per purchase request
4. JPS purchases the item
JPS places the eligible order with the Japanese seller or store.
The seller then ships the item domestically to the JPS warehouse.
For auctions, the process is different because the customer authorizes a maximum bid and the final price depends on the auction result.
5. The warehouse receives the item
When the shipment arrives:
JPS free storage:
60 days
Item photos:
¥500/item
Detailed inspection or authentication is not included in the standard service.
- basic receiving check is included
- warehouse storage begins
- optional item photos can be requested
6. Store or consolidate purchases
Customers can wait for additional eligible orders to arrive within the storage period.
Consolidation:
Free
That means JPS does not charge a separate fee simply for combining eligible orders.
7. Pack the international parcel
International parcel packing starts from:
¥500
The warehouse now has the information needed to evaluate:
This is when meaningful international shipping options can be shown.
- actual weight
- dimensions
- contents
8. Choose international shipping
JPS charges:
Actual carrier rate — no JPS markup
Available methods depend on:
Carrier shipping protection applies according to carrier terms.
JPS assists with eligible carrier claims.
- destination
- parcel weight
- dimensions
- contents
- battery or restricted-item rules
- current carrier availability
9. Customs and delivery
The parcel enters the destination country.
Duties, taxes, customs procedures, and carrier charges depend on local rules.
Country-specific guidance should be checked separately.
Example: used camera purchase
You find a used film camera in Japan.
Before purchase, you verify:
JPS buys the item.
The seller ships it to the JPS warehouse.
After arrival, you may request photos and wait for a lens from another store.
You consolidate the eligible items for free, pay packing from ¥500, then choose from the actual carrier rates.
That is the basic JPS workflow.
