Overview
Amazon Japan is not part of the standard JPS marketplace list.
That distinction should be clear from the beginning.
Some Amazon.co.jp products can already be shipped internationally, while others are restricted to delivery in Japan. In some cases, a JPS Buy by URL request may be possible, but the order should not be presented as a normal integrated JPS marketplace purchase.
Check direct Amazon Japan shipping first
Before using a proxy, check whether the exact Amazon Japan offer ships directly to your destination.
Do not check only the product page.
Amazon.co.jp can show several seller offers for the same product, and each seller can have different:
The exact offer matters.
- shipping eligibility
- condition
- price
- domestic delivery charge
- return terms
When a Buy by URL request may be useful
A Buy by URL request may be worth checking when:
JPS should confirm whether the specific Amazon Japan URL can be handled before the customer relies on the proxy workflow.
- the exact seller offer ships only within Japan
- the product requires a Japanese delivery address
- you want the item delivered to the JPS warehouse with other Japan purchases
- the product itself is eligible for JPS handling and international forwarding
Preserve the exact seller offer
Before submitting a request, record:
Amazon can change the featured seller.
The order should be tied to the offer the customer actually approved.
- product title
- ASIN when useful
- seller
- Ships From / fulfillment party
- variation
- quantity
- condition
- price
- Japan domestic shipping
- estimated delivery date
Used Amazon listings require extra care
For used products, read the seller condition note.
For example, a used collectible may be missing:
A broad condition grade such as “Very Good” may not be enough for a collector.
- original box
- manual
- bonus item
- cable
- charger
- obi
- accessories
Electronics need compatibility checks
Before buying Japan-market electronics, confirm:
A Japanese model number may differ from a similarly named overseas model.
- voltage
- plug type
- wireless or cellular compatibility
- menu language
- region restrictions
- warranty region
- battery configuration
International shipping is calculated later
If the purchase reaches the JPS warehouse, international shipping is handled as a separate stage.
JPS uses:
- packing from ¥500 per international parcel
- free consolidation of eligible orders
- actual carrier shipping rates
- no JPS markup on international shipping
- carrier shipping protection according to carrier terms
