[The FF Rocket that Livened Up the Rally Scene in the 1990s] The Peugeot 306 Maxi was developed as an F2 kit car, a two-wheel-drive rally car based on a production car and equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine. It dominated the rally scene in the late 1990s, particularly on tarmac rallies, beating out the competition from factory-built 4WD turbocharged cars. It won the French Rally Championship in 1996 and 1997, took second place overall (and first in its class) in the 1996 Monte Carlo Rally, and third place in the following year's WRC Rounds 5 and 6. This electric R/C assembly kit recreates this FF car that ignited the rally scene in the late 1990s. Despite its compact two-box design, the car's flared front and rear fenders and rear wing are faithfully recreated. The polycarbonate body is painted in Brilliant Blue with smoked windows. The set also includes original Tamiya decals featuring the Peugeot logo, lion logo, and number plate. While retaining the same center frame housing the running battery, motor, and R/C mechanism, you can choose between front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive by swapping the final gear and steering linkage. The symmetrical suspension features four independent double wishbones with friction dampers. Each unit, including the unit motor mount, unit final gear case, and suspension unit, makes assembly easy and maintenance-friendly.
