Organic quick oats are finely shredded oats that can be cooked quickly. Also known as instant oats, they can be enjoyed immediately by adding your favorite ingredients and sweeteners when you're short on time. They are also used in baking and energy bars. There are roughly three types of oatmeal. The most common is rolled oats, which are made by rolling steamed oats into a rolled oatmeal. Quick oats are made by crushing these rolled oats into smaller pieces to shorten the cooking time. There is also an even finer type called instant oats. While they are slightly heated during production, the heat does not penetrate to the center of the oatmeal, so they require further cooking before eating. The heat converts the starch into alpha-sugar, turning them into oatmeal porridge. Recommended Serving Instructions: Place quick oats in a pot of boiling water and simmer until they are soft enough to eat, then remove from the pot and enjoy with your favorite sweeteners, seasonings, dried fruit, or other seasonings. They are also delicious when simmered in milk or soy milk.
