About the Reward: This experience allows participants to observe familiar wild birds, including migratory ones, by touring the tamarind cultivation areas, rice paddies, rivers, mangrove tidal flats, and dam lakes in Kin Town. Naturally, the tour also offers comprehensive information on nature (from geology to flora and fauna) and easy-to-understand explanations by experts. (1) Kin Town Wild Bird Guide (Expert Guide) To date, 270 bird species have been recorded in Kin Town. In particular, the tamarind cultivation areas and rice paddies in Fukka and Ntabaru in Namizato Ward are home to resident herons such as the Ryukyu bittern and the black-crowned night heron, as well as resident rails such as the Japanese dwarf crake and the white-breasted waterhen. Furthermore, numerous migratory birds, including herons, geese, and shorebirds, also migrate to the area. This makes the area renowned as one of the best bird-watching destinations in the prefecture and beyond.
