Why not hop aboard a handmade raft and have fun to your heart's content? Even first-timers can feel at ease, as instructors who have lived in the area for many years and are familiar with the region will provide instruction. Using pre-cut and dried cedar and moso bamboo, you'll learn ropework and tie them to a wooden frame. Once completed, float it on the pond and head out into the great outdoors! The best part is the joy of working together with family and friends to create something from scratch, the sense of accomplishment when you complete it, and the shared experience of nature! All the necessary equipment is provided, so all you need to do is bring a towel and a drink to stay hydrated and you're ready to enjoy this traditional pastime. The experience takes place in a small farming village of just over 100 people in the southern part of Mikuriya Town, Matsuura City. This naturally rich land primarily produces flowering trees, rice, Japanese Black beef, and vegetables. In spring, Genji fireflies swarm, and the terraced rice grown with the clear waters that nourish the firefly larvae is a popular attraction.
