The bluish river stones and crystal-clear scenery, reminiscent of heaven, stretch for 10 kilometers. The ancient Aigo Kagura dance is still practiced in the valley's basin, and sites associated with literary figures are scattered throughout. The valley is beautiful throughout the four seasons, from the fresh greenery of spring to the vibrant colors of autumn. At the back of the valley lies Hiryu Falls, its symbol. Discovered in 1957, it is also located upstream on the prefectural road, where you'll encounter Shoryu Falls, a 60-meter waterfall that has become more accessible due to recent logging. After the rain, three waterfalls appear. Don't miss the Seiryu Falls, which splash about within reach along the road. Mikaeri Falls: The first highlight upon entering Yasui Valley. Crossing Senrin Bridge, you'll see this waterfall, a small stream flowing out of Hirosawa Valley, cascading down in several tiers. It's a magnificent display of nature, whether it's the main or supporting feature of the surrounding scenery. The name "Mikaeri Falls" comes from the desire to turn around and take another look as you leave, and it can be viewed from Senrin Gorge. ◎ Hiryu Falls: Hiryu Falls is a 10-minute walk from Otomegawara. In autumn, you can enjoy the spray and the autumn leaves as you walk. Discovered in 1957, this waterfall was developed as a central tourist attraction in the Yasui Valley Prefectural Natural Park. ◎ Shoryu Falls: This waterfall became visible to the public in 2001 after the surrounding forests were thinned. With a drop of 60 meters, it's truly impressive when the water is at its peak. Normally, there's only one waterfall, but when it rains, another appears nearby. There's also a walking trail that leads right up to the falls. ◎ Seiryu Falls: If you drive through Yasui Valley, you'll find Seiryu Falls between Momiji Park and Toroku-sama. While it's not a large waterfall, its location along the Yasui Park Prefectural Road means you can feel the spray from up close after a rain. Try to find the three dragon waterfalls in Yasui Valley, along with Hiryu Falls and Shoryu Falls. ◎Otomegawara: The only wide riverbed in Yasui Valley, it has long been a popular resting spot for tourists. It is also the entrance to the promenade that leads to Hiryu Falls. Standing on the riverbed where the two rivers meet, the blue river stones and clear waters seem to purify your mind and body.
