Description

Recommended firing temperature: 1250°C. Glaze application amount: Thin (0.7mm-0.8mm thickness is normal). Firing suitability: Oxidation/reduction. Characteristics: This glaze features an attractive yellowish flowing pattern. Be careful as it tends to flow. Recommended water amount: 800-1000cc (per 1kg of glaze). The Natural Ash Kiln-Change Glaze series is intended for advanced ware makers among Isehisa's glazes. While many recent glazes are formulated to produce deep colors even for beginners, this series is for those with a basic knowledge of glazes and in-depth firing techniques who, when used in conjunction with various conditions, can achieve a depth and richness that cannot be achieved anywhere else. Please note that beginners and intermediate ware makers may find this glaze difficult to use and may encounter frequent failures. This glaze is blended with natural earth ash, straw ash, and chair ash, along with feldspar and pottery stone, and possesses the unique properties of natural ash. It has a wide melting range, and produces warm and elegant colors depending on whether it is fired in an acidic flame, reducing flame, or neutral flame. The particles of the constituent components may be uneven, so be sure to rub them well with a mortar or pot mill before use. Test firing should be carried out to try out the various conditions that will produce the glaze tone of your choice, before firing.
